Description

A rare Japanese satsuma pottery lidded jar decorated with twenty-two molded medallions on a blue ground and finely hand painted with raised enamel animals and flowers. The shoulder and lid are decorated with raised enamel and gold designs. It has a figural finial and is signed Kinkozan on the bottom. Age - Meiji period circa 1868 - 1912 Approximate Size - 9 + 1/8 inches in overall height by 8 + 1/8 inches across the shoulder by 6 + 1/8 inches across the foot rim. Condition - Age appropriate, there is a hairline toward the edge of the lid and the finial has been reattached, see all photos for complete assessment. P lease ask if additional photos are necessary.
