Up for auction is the early Beswich Fruit Bowl or mantle Bowl that would add an English spin to your collection. This is marked Administration applied for Beswich England in black in the oval shape. There is crazing throughout as can be seen in the photos. Overall condition if great. No chips or cracks. James Wright Beswick and his sons John and Gilbert founded John Beswick Ltd in 1894 in Longton, Stoke-on-Trent. Takeover In 1969, Doulton & Co. Ltd bought the business. Beswick name use Doulton continued to make Beswick animal models and figurines under the Beswick name after the takeover, but the range was reduced. Doulton stopped using the Beswick name in early 1989.
