RARE Vtg EVA ZEISEL Schramberg Vase German Modernist Bauhaus Era HAND PAINTED 7.5" high, 2.25" round opening at top. 4.5" wide handle-to-handle 4" diameter round base Stunning hand painted design, a hand created original by esteemed Modernist/Bauhaus era designer EVA ZEISEL. She worked for Schramberg making these types of glazed vessels in a very short time period- circa 1929 & 1930. Her pottery is extremely sought after today for its instantly recognizable style of playful geometric shapes & patterns in the Bauhaus style of Germany. With a glossy glaze finish and deep rich colors to artwork. Fabulous Bauhaus stylized flowers which are round circles with no petals. This theme is echoed in the circular openings of the 2 handles at top. Highly collectible. Extremely rare! Within the SMF Schramberg mark on the underside is incised the number 2607. This vase represents a very specific piece of Ceramic Art History. Very good condition with 2 minor chips. One TINY chip at bottom of vase, and on the same side, a chip in the glaze near the top rim. See last 2 pics. No other nicks chips cracks fading or repair other than 2 fine surface craze lines near handle. Very heavy, beautifully made piece. See all pics and use zoom.
