Description
This is a rare antique "art-pottery" vase by the J.J. West Company with a patent date of April 22, 1884, and measuring 15" tall by 9 1/2" at its widest. It is well-made, has a nice weight and is in what we consider to be good to very good condition for its age . It is worth mentioning that there is some loss at one of the pedals of the large rose and one of the leaves near the top. The technique was patented in 1884 and was sold unfinished with directions on painting it with oil and/or enamel paint. The vase only goes down approximately 3 3/4" from the top. We acquired this piece along with many other fine vintage and antique decorative items that we are also offering here. Please consult the pictures carefully, and feel free to e-mail us with any questions you may have about this wonderful rare piece. Be sure to check out our other listings for more great items!
