Description

This bulbous bottle is raised on a splayed foot with a long neck and a flared mouth. Two baby dragons are applied in high relief over the sloped shoulder, a portion of their bodies arched away from the surface creating a delicate space . The flambe glaze consists of blue and green streaks. Thicker blue overglaze enamel running down and pooling short of the the splayed foot. Condition: there is a chip on one dragon's nose; there are small chips on the foot. There are production flaws like glaze slips in the form of 3 gashes on one side of the belly. Good condition overall. No significant chips cracks or repairs. This bottle is at least 16" tall and 26 " around the belly. This was probably produced in the later 1700's. (Tang pottery were also painted with "runny" glazes.) Buyer is advised to research all information provided and examine photos closely. Seller does not offer returns.
